Accent: Apparently mine is pretty bad, especially when I’ve had a few drinks. Sometimes I hear myself on m voicemail and think, “Damn, you can tell I’m from Texas!”
Book that I like: Anything by Laurie Notaro. Also, I’m a cookbook slut.
Chore I don’t care for: Doing the dishes. Scrubbing the tub.
Dog or Cat: Just one dog. Hopefully a 2nd one later this summer.
Essential Electronics: Cell phone, laptop (yay!), digital camera
Favorite Cologne: Vera Wang
Gold or Silver: Silver. I hate gold.
Handbag I carry most often: A J.Crew bag that I stole from my sister. She’ll never carry a small purse again.
Insomnia: Sometimes.
Job Title: Retail slave/slavedriver
Kids: Nope.
Living Arrangements: We live in a crappy house in a crappy neighborhood. I guess it could be worse, but it could also be much better.
Most Admirable Trait: I take care of people.
Naughtiest Childhood Behavior: Hmmm…either stuffing my brother into a suitcase and catching his upper lip in the zipper OR tying my brother to a tree in the front yard and duct taping his mouth shut. If you have ever met my brother, he has probably told you all about both occurrences.
Overnight hospital stays: Knock on wood, none yet.
Phobias: Bees/wasps, death
Quote: “That’s what she said”
Religion: Not sure how I feel about that these days. I grew up Presbyterian. I haven’t been to church since my wedding and I really have had absolutely no desire to go back to church. What does that make me?
Siblings: I am the oldest of 3.
Time I wake up: Usually between 6-7, even on my days off.
Unusual Talent or Skill: I can memorize numbers (at work) like a crazy person.
Vegetable I Refuse to Eat: Cooked spinach. Nasty.
Worst Habit: The inability to say “NO” to people. It kicks me in the ass pretty much on a regular basis.
X-rays: I have had a million sprained ankles from 15 years of ballet.
Yummy Stuff: Mashed potatoes. Steak. Fruit tart from Central Market.
Zoo Animal I Like Most: I like the rhinoceros. My brother used to call them “rhine-horse-eros” and it makes me laugh every time I think about it. Talk about ACCENTS.
Anyone else want to play along?

My friend Aria pointed these out yesterday, and I think I’m going to have to order some. You can get them in magnets or stickers - very cute!

EarthExpressions on Etsy has some pretty necklaces for sale. I think I might need one of each.

I just love this “sweet” print from Orangebeautiful on Etsy.
I need to do some more etsy-ing.
I haven’t had much time to do any “window” shopping because I seem to be unable to say NO to people and things. It’s my own fault. I’m taking my day off this week to do whatever the heck I want to, and right now that is sitting at my computer looking for cool stuff that I must have. You’re welcome.

My living room has a blank spot just begging to be filled, and I think a chair in a fun print would be perfect! I found this chair today, now to just convince the old ball & chain.

What do YOU think of it?
I’m going to keep a running list of books that I want - I can never remember any of them when I go to a bookstore!
My Horizontal Life - Chelsea Handler
Are You There, Vodka? It’s me, Chelsea - Chelsea Handler - in progress
Certain Girls - Jennifer Weiner
Bonk - Mary Roach
Split: A Memoir - Suzanne Finnamore
Queen of Babble Gets Hitched - Meg Cabot
I don’t think it exists. My friend Sars is looking for a new purse, under $500 - I’m not a big-time “purse person” and neither is she. I would like to buy a new, nice purse sometime in 2008, so we’ll see. Maybe this post will help Sars too

Chloe Paddington Tote - WAY out of my price range, but this purse caught my eye. I would shoot myself before spending that much on a purse, but it sure is pretty!

Carlos Falchi Large Patent Doctor Bag - Much better at $595, but still a little on the steep side for this Nine West/J Crew girl. Love the red!! Red is a neutral, right? RIGHT?
Kate Landry Clear Top-Zip Tote - Love the colors! VERY cute. Not exactly what I would call “classic”, though

Dooney & Bourke ‘Small Chiara’ Patent Leather Drawtop Bag - Even though I will always associate D&B with junior high and tackyass logo bags, I really do like this one. Probably because it doesn’t LOOK like a Dooney. And of course I won’t get orange, because that color makes me want to gag, but I would get boring black. And I’m okay with that.

Furla ‘Matilde’ Metallic Shopper - Two words: LOVE IT. Three more words: Is it ghetto? Do I really care?

Juicy Couture ‘Beach Flower’ Tote Bag - Just checking to see if you were paying attention. I’m warning all of my friends: If any of you have this bag, I just might punch you. Don’t embarrass me like that!

Kenneth Cole New York ‘Seams Right Large’ Hobo Bag - Of course I would get the black one, because I hate that “luggage” color, it makes me cringe. I just wish it wasn’t so bigass. I’m on a mission to find a smaller version, this would be the front runner were it not so huge.
Coach Hamptons Signature Large Flap Satchel - I love Coach, but dammit, I don’t love their brass hardware. I think black purses need nickel hardware, not fugly brass. This purse has what I want, but do I just like it because I found a black/nickel combo? Or do I really, truly, madly, deeply love this purse? I don’t know. I will have to run to the Coach store and check it out.
I’m pursed out for the night. My eyes are starting to blur with all these badass purses. Hope this helped you a little, Sars
Just don’t get the tacky pink one.
This site has some *cute* stuff on it! I bookmarked it a LONG time ago and promptly forgot about it (as I tend to do). Enjoy!
